We’re Christopher and Victoria Lawrence, a husband-and-wife team passionate about creating beautiful, thoughtful, and sustainable gardens. With over 10 years of experience in horticulture and a shared background in design, we bring creativity, knowledge, and practical skills to every garden design project we take on. Victoria holds an RHS qualification and a diploma in design, providing her with a strong foundation in planting knowledge and aesthetics. Christopher completed his apprenticeship in horticulture at Kingston Maurward College, alongside earning a diploma in design, which equips him with hands-on expertise and a deep understanding of plants, soils, and garden care. Together, we specialise in designing sensory gardens that connect people with nature through colour, scent, texture, and sound. We also offer detailed border planting plans, which help transform spaces with carefully chosen plants that thrive in their environment. Our goal is simple: to design garden spaces that are not only beautiful but also meaningful, immersive, and tailored to the people who enjoy them.

Who We Are
We are passionate about creating gardens that not only look beautiful but also feel welcoming, inclusive, and restorative. Our work brings together different backgrounds and experiences, which allows us to design sensory gardens that truly connect with people.
Victoria
Victoria’s career has always been centred around care and wellbeing. With experience as a nurse and in a Special Educational Needs school, she brings a deep understanding of how people with diverse needs engage with their environment. Now, as a chair yoga teacher, she has further developed her knowledge of how movement, relaxation, and mindfulness can be enhanced by nature. This blend of experiences gives Victoria a unique perspective on how sensory gardens should be planned — creating spaces that are accessible, calming, and stimulating in just the right ways.
Christopher
Christopher has worked his whole life in the horticultural industry, building a wealth of practical knowledge and a passion for plants. Outside of work, his interests in football, walking, and history influence his designs — drawing inspiration from movement, the natural landscape, and traditional planting styles. His expertise in border planting plans ensures that every design is not only attractive but also layered with sensory detail, offering colour, texture, scent, and seasonal interest.
Our Design Philosophy
We believe in naturalistic planting that reflects the beauty of the outdoors, while weaving in sensory features that invite people to engage more deeply with the garden. From planting schemes rich in texture and fragrance to features like sensory posts, sound elements, and tactile materials, our garden design encourages exploration, relaxation, and connection with nature.
Community Involvement
We are proud to be active within our local community. Most recently, we designed the planting plan for the sensory garden at Wimborne Community Garden — a space that brings people together and provides a sanctuary for all who visit.

We specialise in creating sensory gardens that are designed to be inclusive, engaging, and restorative. Every garden design project is unique, and we work closely with our clients to ensure that the sensory garden not only looks beautiful but also provides meaningful experiences through sight, touch, sound, scent, and movement.
Sensory Gardens
We design and deliver sensory gardens for a wide range of settings:
Community Projects – Bringing people together in shared spaces, encouraging wellbeing, social interaction, and connection with nature.
Care Homes – Creating safe, calming, and stimulating outdoor environments that support relaxation, reminiscence, and gentle activity for residents.
Schools – Designing gardens for both special educational needs (SEN) and mainstream schools. Our sensory gardens provide children of all ages with opportunities for exploration, learning, and play through nature.
Private Homes – For families or individuals who would like a personal sensory space, we create tailored garden designs that meet specific needs and enhance everyday life.
Border Design Service
Not every project requires a full garden design. For clients who would like to enhance part of their garden, we offer a dedicated Border Design Service. This includes:
A planting plan tailored to the space, soil type, and style of your garden.
A full planting list, making it easy to source and understand the plants chosen.
The option of us planting up the border, ensuring your new planting scheme is set up to thrive.
This service is perfect for refreshing an existing border or creating a new one, whether you’d like a vibrant display of colour, a calming naturalistic scheme, or a border rich in sensory interest.
Wimborne Community Garden approached us to design a garden for the Beautiful Borders competition at the BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair at Beaulieu in 2026. From the very beginning, the project was rooted in the values that define WCG: inclusion, creativity, and the power of people coming together to transform a space.
We developed the garden design around the imaginative theme “Once Upon a Time”, using storytelling as a way to invite visitors into the garden. Just as in a fairytale, the space reveals itself in layers, encouraging exploration, curiosity, and a sense of wonder. The narrative reflects the journey of a community coming together to create something meaningful, nurturing, and lasting.
Wimborne Community Garden was our key inspiration. Their work shows how even the smallest plot can become a place of connection, wellbeing, and growth when people collaborate, demonstrating effective border planting plans. We wanted the garden to celebrate this spirit and illustrate that you don’t need a large area to create something special.
The design shows how community gardens and sensory gardens can thrive anywhere—from office courtyards and apartment blocks to schools and urban corners. Through thoughtful planting, texture, and layout, the garden encourages interaction, reflection, and accessibility for people of all ages and abilities.
Ultimately, the garden tells a simple but powerful story: wherever there is a little space, imagination, and community, something beautiful can grow.
